Frequently asked questions
Helpful answers before we meet.
Custom window coverings come with real choices. Here is what to expect from our consultation, selection, and installation process.
Planning your project
Start here, then ask us anything.
What happens during an in-home consultation?
We bring samples, look at how each room is used, discuss privacy, light, style, durability, and budget, and measure the windows. You receive recommendations shaped around your home—not a one-size-fits-all catalog pitch.
Is the consultation free?
Yes. The first in-home consultation is complimentary. We will confirm your location and project details when we respond.
Which areas do you serve?
Our core service area is the greater Sacramento region, generally within about 50 miles of Elk Grove. Larger whole-home projects may be considered farther away. Contact us and we will quickly confirm availability.
Do you offer motorized window coverings?
Yes. Depending on the product and application, options may include rechargeable, battery, hardwired, solar-supported, remote, and smart-home-capable systems. We also help with setup and operation for products we sell.
Do you offer exterior shade and screen products?
Yes. NBWC offers motorized exterior awnings and screen enclosures for outdoor living areas. Because every opening and site is different, we confirm the appropriate configuration, operation, materials, and current options during the consultation.
Is every exterior solution available for every home?
Not necessarily. Placement, opening dimensions, mounting conditions, the surrounding structure, and current product availability all affect the right solution. We review those conditions before making a recommendation or promising a specific configuration.
How long does the process take?
Timing depends on the product, manufacturer, customization, and current production schedule. After selection and measurement, we provide realistic expectations and keep you informed as your order moves toward installation.
Do you handle measuring and installation?
Yes. Precise measurement and professional installation are central to our process. At installation, we also demonstrate how to operate and care for your new coverings.
Do you work with more than one manufacturer?
Yes. We work across multiple established manufacturers. That breadth helps us recommend the right fit for the opening, design, features, and budget without making the project follow a single catalog.
How is pricing determined?
Custom window coverings vary by size, material, control system, options, and installation needs. We explain the tradeoffs and build a recommendation around value rather than pushing every project toward the most expensive choice.
